After Steve Coast last week, we are very pleased to confirm the second keynote speaker for the European OpenStreetMap conference (SotM-Europe) in Vienna: Muki Haklay, researcher at UCL London. Muki is no stranger to the OSM community: If you attended former SotM-conferences you probably know him and his exciting research on OSM data quality as well as the characteristics of mappers.

This year we would like to establish a special focus on research with a relation to OpenStreetMap. Muki will make the perfect connection between the OSM community and the research world with his talk "Observing from afar or joining the action: OSM and GIScience research". We are looking forward to his keynote!

Registration for the State of the Map Europe 2011 conference is open. Get your ticket now! Your early bird conference pass for all three days comes at EUR 60 when paid by bank transfer. For payment via paypal, we need to charge EUR 63 instead. The regular price will be EUR 90.

We just extended the Call for Papers to 20^th March. We received a lot of interesting submissions already. There will be keynotes by Steve Coast (founder of OpenStreetMap) and Muki Haklay (Researcher at UCL, London). Representatives of Mapnik, the Humanitarian OSM Team (HOT), OpenSeaMap and many others will join us. Take your chance to present and discuss your ideas with these well-known experts!
